Diogo Dalot has said that Fred is the underdog who is criticised by everyone in Manchester United’s squad.
The Portuguese singled out the Brazilian midfielder for praise following United’s 1-0 Premier League win over Crystal Palace in Ralf Rangnick’s first game in charge. Fred struck 13 minutes to stoppage time to hand Man United all three points, curling an impressive shot with his weaker right foot from outside the box.
Before Fred struck the winning goal, Rangnick’s side completely controlled the match but had struggled to find a breakthrough.“He is the underdog. Everybody can criticise him but he keeps his head clean, he goes inside the pitch and every game he gives everything that he has – that is what this club is about,” Dalot told MUTV.
“Even if you lose a ball, even if you lose a shot on goal you are always going to try next and you are always going to fight for the team. That’s what we want.”
