He also commended the Peoples Democratic Party’s presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, for availing himself of the country’s legal and judicial system, while advising the former vice-president to accept the verdict in good faith. In a statement issued in Abuja on Wednesday by his Chief Press Secretary, Umar Puma, the Deputy Speaker said tribunal had, by its verdict, vindicated the Independent National Electoral Commission which declared President Muhammadu Buhari and the All Progressives Congress as the winner of the presidential election “in line with the mandate freely and willingly given by Nigerians.”

“The ruling has also vindicated the position of our party, the APC that the presidential election conducted on February 23, 2019 was transparent, free and credible and that majority of Nigerians preferred President Muhammadu Buhari over and above the candidate of the PDP; and indeed voted massively for the candidate of the their choice.”
