The Edo State Government has warned operators of private schools and lecture centres without approval from the State Ministry of Education to desist from such.
In a statement signed on Thursday, Secretary to the State Government, Osarodion Ogie, decried the activities of some private individuals and organisations, who operated educational centres with substandard instructional facilities and personnel in shanties across the state.
“Government has constituted a taskforce to clamp down on illegal private school/lecture centres to seal the premises and prosecute those promoting them.” Ogie urged parents/guardians to register their children and wards at only approved private schools and lecture centres or in the nearest public schools.
