The Lagos State Police Command on Saturday stated that no formal report was made concerning the death of a 12-year-old student of Dowen College, Lekki, Sylvester Oromoni.
The statement titled ‘Investigation Into The Death Of Sylvester Oromoni Of Dowen College, Lekki, Ongoing’ was signed by the state police Public Relations Officer, Adekunle Ajisebutu. The statement partly read, “The Lagos State Police Command is not unaware of the reported death of one Sylvester Oromoni, a 12-year-old student of Dowen College, Lekki, Lagos which is currently going viral on the social media.

Why does the Police need 'formal report' to investigate a crime? Alleged murder for that matter. So a serial killer can go on the loose to commit genocide and he won't be prosecuted if nobody makes a 'formal report'?
