A Chief Magistrate’s Court in Unguwar Idi, Gombe State, has adjourned a case of divorce initiated by a woman, Lawiza Muazu, against her husband, identified simply as Alhaji Muazu.
The presiding magistrate, Garba Abubakar, adjourned the case till next Monday to enable the woman to present her witnesses.She alleged that her husband also beat her when they had misunderstandings. She said, “The latest quarrel we had was when I refused to cook food for the house. My action was as a result of non-provision of firewood or charcoal by him.
“When he beat me for the first time, I went home, but my father asked me to go back. My husband later resorted to biting me after the beating. He bit my fingers for refusing to cook food.”Read Also
