Cross River says police manning its boundary with Akwa Ibom are sabotaging efforts to stop the spread of coronavirus by demanding each individual pay N500 to cross the state line.An aide to the state governor on publicity, Peter Iyali, said the action of the bad eggs in the police force was disgraceful and a betrayal, adding that the sabotage was more rampant on the Calabar-Itu road border point.

The Nigerian police is more of like giving the lion a bunch of meat to keep for you. Their denial is also part of their work.. They can even do beyond that..

Recipe for restructuring. The Nigerian police force is too central without proper control held by states. Brace up. We are fast approaching the day where and when policing is decentralized. Of course there would be a federal police for inter state / limited jurisdiction crimes.
