Crisis hits Labour Party in Adamawa, Chairman dismisses no-confidence vote

The Chairman of the Labour Party (LP) in Adamawa State, Christopher Nicholas, has dismissed a vote of no confidence passed on him by some of his

executives.Peter Obi., promising to eradicate poverty and insecurity in Nigeria Prof Femi Olufunmilade, Presidential candidate of the party Prince Adewole Adebayo, Senator Ebenezer Ekehina and national secretary of the party Dr Olu Agunloye at the reconciliation meeting in Ikeja, Lagos on Wednesday.PDP chieftain: Some party leaders have been bankrolled to derail Atiku’s presidential bid Author: September 28, 2022 4:10 PM Chinemerem Madu, a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has alleged that a national vice-chairman of the party has mapped out plans to frustrate Atiku Abubakar’s presidential bid.

He said during a press briefing at the state secretariat of the party in Yola on Thursday that those who passed the vote of no confidence on him earlier, on Wednesday, were fictitious and had no true grounds to move against him. Some among his executives had signed a petition on Wednesday, alleging anti-party activities and ‘incitement of religious discrimination against him, pronounced a no-confidence vote on him.He explained: “Don’t look at tribe or religion. The 26 petitioners, passed off mostly as party council chairmen, had claimed that Christopher Nicholas was fond of “collaborating with other political parties against the interest of our major candidates in the Labour Party. The presidential candidate of the party, Prince Adewole Adebayo, said that with the development, SDP has displayed that it is an organised party, capable of resolving its internal crisis and should be trusted by Nigerians to solve socio-economic and political crises bedevilling the country.” At the press briefing on Thursday, however, Christopher Nicholas insisted that most of the 26 state and local government executives whose names were on the petition against him were either not executives or did not have the blessings of the ring leaders.Don’t look at our religion. He added that the claims against him were false and that those behind the plot to question his leadership only devised desperate means to try to see him out of the party.Advertisement Madu said the party chieftain is seducing NEC members with huge sums of money to fabricate stories to soil Atiku’s bid for the presidency.

He said, “I did nothing contrary to the party’s rules and regulations. It’s nobody’s turn; it’s Nigerians’ turn.A political party must show that it has what it takes to lead and we are happy because we are not travelling to London to hold a series of meetings to find solutions to our disagreement.I have never at any time run this party as a personal estate, as before decisions are taken it is always done in conjunction with party executives and other stakeholders.“I make bold to say that the names and signatures of those who signed (the no-confidence vote) are fake.Nobody will take anything from them this time! Nobody is entitled to it.I want to urge the general public to disregard the vote of no confidence. He said, “On this day that campaign for 2023 general elections begin, I am telling Nigerians that if our party is elected to govern this country, housing, food and other basic necessities of life will not be an issue.I remain the chairman of the Labour Party in Adamawa State. It’s your money they are giving you.Dr Iyorchia Ayu, but actually targeted at frustrating the Atiku Abubakar presidential bid.
