Coronavirus in Nigeria: Senate panics, says FG ‘doing nothing’ to prevent disease

The position of the upper legislative chamber followed Point of Order by Deputy Leader, Robert Ajayi Boroffice drawing the attention to the very “loose arrangements” he noticed at the Nigerian airport upon his return from South Africa, calling on relevant authorities to do more especially in the area of screening of visitors coming into the country.

Speaking, the President of the Senate, Ahmad Lawan noted that while other countries with better medical facilities are doing everything to prevent the disease; Nigeria was in his words “busy doing nothing”. Responding to the threat of Coronavirus; the FG government has released a total of N600m to prevent the disease from reaching Nigeria.

Coronavirus which broke out in the Southeast of China has killed over 2,801 people; with cases reported in parts of Europe and the United States of America.

Isn't buying new SUV's preventable measures against covid-19?

Isn't buying new SUV's for denators way forward?

The Senate shouldn't panic about anything because it has been rubber-stamping other manifestations of the FG's inertia

How can they say they are doing nothing when FG has disbursed over N300m for its prevention?
