Coronavirus: Akwa Ibom questions NCDC’s announcements, demands second tests

The Akwa Ibom government appears to be contesting the National Centre for Disease Control ’s announcement of cases of the novel coronavirus in the state.

The statement from the Akwa Ibom government said even the director general of the NCDC was unaware of the result that was announced by the agency.“Owing to the irregularities observed in the testing and reporting procedure, Health Care Professionals in Akwa Ibom State have called for an immediate reconfirmation test on the 5 reported cases,” the statement said.

“While the tests were being processed in NCDC approved test facilities, all suspected cases were held in isolation. The Akwa Ibom governor, Udom Emmanuel, a few days ago signed into law an executive order banning public gatherings in the state.

Hope the State is aware that COVID-19 don't respect 'political party' or 'reporting protocol'. COVID-19 result is an election result.

I live and work in Uyo. The govt has really been irresponsible and the level of sensitization is extremely very low. Some folks here arguing that covid-19 is a scam for health sector to have a share of the National cake. Am not surprised that the govt is arguing with the NCDC

They are not ready

Covidioit!!

Scammer everywhere

Nothing bad in asking the NCDCgov for a second test but just don’t allow the supposedly infected persons to be moving about during the period.

👀👀👀. You've got to be kidding me.

Fools

What is wrong with this people sef? Why not sanitize the people and stop playing petty politics with this, cos e go backfire o.

Lol. Who are these 🤡

Must NCDCgov ncdc report a case to a state government before publishing?

Make dem carry the result go court nah, they think this is election result. insensitive GOVt.
