Data from the National Bureau of Statistics showed on Wednesday that China’s CPI rose 1.3 per cent year on year in May.

He said that the average CPI in the first five months of the year went up 0.4 per cent from the same period last year. The country has set its consumer inflation target at around three per cent for the year 2021, according to this year’s government work report.
