The National Productivity Centre (NPC) will collaborate with local government administrations to build consciousness from the grassroots

The NPC boss, who disclosed this at the Oyo State Local Government leadership and productivity workshop held in Ibadan, described local governments as the centre of development and fertile grounds to nurture a productivity mindset.“If we get labour right, I am sure that all other factors within the chain of production will be right.

He identified innovation, creativity, self-development and time management as the most critical elements workers must imbibe to improve their productivity.He hinted that the essence of the workshop was to expose the local government workers to how they can deploy the resources available to them efficiently in a manner that such resources are used to achieve the maximum result they were intended to achieve.

“So, there is a constant need to build the capacity of the workforce at that level of government. We aim to inbuild a culture of productivity in whatever they do. Our ambition is to build a mass movement of productivity champions and ambassadors that will go into the field to preach the message of productivity.”In his remarks at the occasion, Chairman, Oyo State Local Government Service Commission, Dr.
