The Association of Bayelsa Professionals has faulted the decision of the Code of Conduct Tribunal to arraign the Speaker of Bayelsa State House of Assembly, Kombowei Benson, describing it as political intimidation.
He alleged that investigations indicated that the lawmaker, representing the Brass 1 Constituency in the Bayelsa State House òf Assembly, Mr. Sunny Goli, who is a member of the All Progressives Congress , was behind the recent plan to arraign the speaker and the others for alleged abuse of office. He insisted that investigations conducted by the group, whose members were in strategic places in various institutions across the state, revealed that the lawmaker, was absent in most legislative sessions.He said that it was immoral and ridiculous for such political elements to use the CCT as a battle axe against their political opponents, who had made serious sacrifice for peace, stability and development of the state.
