Coronavirus pandemic has no doubt affected way of life of people globally. Some parents work remotely while schools have remained closed in many countries to contain the spread of the virus.

Parents have had to deal with the headache of working from home while having to take care of their kids and also ensure their safety. It’s easier to cater to them all day on weekends. But having them every day of the week is an entirely different situation. Parents are overwhelmed with the thoughts of keeping their children busy and productive all day.

She said, “It’s been a bit difficult watching over them while having to attend to other things. To keep them engaged, I deliberately worked out an achievable schedule with them. I am currently homeschooling them. After breakfast, we start lessons. We usually have a read-aloud session and recitation. Then I give each of them exercises to work on. While they work on the exercise, I attend to other things. Once they complete that, I allow them to watch cartoons.

She said, “The pressure seems too much as employers are more stricter now and there is much pressure on me than when in the office. Keeping up with office demands and still having to ensure that the kids are safe and fine are serious issues for me. I have realised that I can’t let them play all day for it’s not good for them. So, I googled some educating activities to keep them busy.

He said, “It’s a beautiful moment for me to stay with my kids. I think rather than nag; parents should see it as an opportunity to spend time with their children. Yes, coping with children this period can be tasking. But that does not mean one should be cranky with the children. They hardly have me around; I can’t say because of work, my children should be neglected.

She said, “This is a period to encourage parents to plan a combination of activities for their children’s overall development. Parents need to do a thorough assessment of their home, what can possibly go wrong and how to tackle it. For example, children will be indoors with family members or caregivers, especially in cases where the parents aren’t working from home.
