The Senate has received two requests from President Muhammadu Buhari for the confirmation of Prof. Mansur Auwalu Bindawa as a Non-Executive Commissioner of the Nigerian Communications Commission and Nnamonso Ekanem and Mahmud Abubakar Magaji as members of the Federal Judicial Service Commission .

The request letters were on Tuesday read by the Senate President, Dr Ahmad Lawan, upon resumption of plenary by the Red Chamber. The request to confirm the nomination of Prof. Bindawa as Non-Executive Commissioner of the NCC was contained in a letter dated January 10, 2022. President Buhari in the letter explained that the request was made pursuant to the provision of Section 8 of the Nigerian Communications Act.

In another letter dated January 4, 2022, President Buhari requested the Senate to confirm the nominations of Nnamonso Ekanem and Mahmud Abubakar Magaji as members of the Federal Judicial Service Commission.
