Bishop charges govt on meeting EndSARS protesters’ demands | The Guardian Nigeria News - Nigeria and World News
Bishop, Catholic Diocese of Abeokuta, His Lordship, Most Rev. Peter Odetoyinbo has called on the Federal Government to make good its promise to meet the demands of the youth in the aftermath of the #EndSARS imbroglio.
“Let the government respond to the demand of the youth who are aggrieved and are not happy for being snobbed, sidelined or being taken for granted.“If a child at home is making a request from the father, a genuine father would not respond by being violent and killing the child. He would either make provision for the need of the child or, if he is not in a position to meet the child’s need at that time, he makes him understand that one day, he would be obliged with his need,” he said.
The cleric added that he believed the government ought to have responded to the youth’s demand in this manner and failure to do this will amount to setting the house on fire.He charged the government to do everything within its power to arrest the youth’s restiveness and make them happy.
He also called on the youth to use their vibrancy and initiative to create wealth for themselves by standing strong and firm for the truth, remaining focused and using their energy to do something worthwhile that will give them a better future. He premised the significance of the church dedication on the spiritual need of the members of the diocese and the community, adding that in the midst of various challenges confronting the nation, people still love God. headtopics.com
