ICYMI: Bayelsa United parade ‘killers squad’ against Guinean team | The Guardian Nigeria News - Nigeria and World News

The Confederation of African Football had ruled the fixture be played on a one legged basis, following the coup d’etat in Guinea that saw President Alpha Condé dethroned.

Coach of Bayelsa United, Diepreye Teibowei, declared yesterday that his side would be seeking a ‘resounding victory’ against the Guineans. The Guinée Championnat National, who scored 24 goals and conceded same number of goals in 26 games, have a huge task in Yenagoa, as the host, Bayelsa United, have vowed to parade a ‘killers squad’ with the trio of Emo James, Victory Beniangba and Okardi Inikurogha spearheading the attack.

Speaking to the Club Media, coach Teibowei stated that his lads were in good shape going into the encounter, adding that he is aware of the importance of playing in the continent. Though the Guinean side are relatively unknown in the continent, the Bayelsa United tactician believes with the information available about his opponent, his lad would secure passage to the next round.

Bayelsa United, who are nicknamed ‘The Prosperity Boys’ are unbeaten at home for three years despite playing in the Nigeria National League .Speaking on the fitness level of his players, coach Teibowei confirmed that striker, Robert Mizo, would miss the clash alongside midfielder Stephen Wisdom, who has moved to Kano Pillars, but added that defender Endurance Ebedibiri and Gabriel Biriduba are available.
