No fewer than 14 passengers have lost their lives in a deadly road accident in Kano, the Federal Road Safety Corps confirmed. The auto crash involving a Toyota Hummer bus with registration number GML 102 TA belonging to Kano line transport service and a private Hyundai Jeep occurred at Rege village by Antukuwani along Gaya-Wudil highway, about 45 kilometers from the metropolis.

FRSC Sector Commander, Kano sector, Zubairu Mato told journalists on Tuesday that the unfortunate incident happened at about 7:30 pm Sunday night when the two vehicles had a headlong collision. Mato attributed the accident to overspeeding and dangerous overtaking and urged drivers to ensure the use of speed limit devices.
