The Clerk of the House, Bode Adeyelu, had read a letter from the Executive on the need to establish the security agency in order to assist in maintaining law and order.
Speaker Bamidele Oleyelogun, who hailed other lawmakers for cutting short their recess for the second time to attend to state matters, urged them to give the Bill the desired attention in view of its benefits to the people.Majority Leader Jamiu Sulaimon Maito noted that the Bill, when passed into Law, would assist in reducing vices.
Ekiti State Government has said efforts are in the pipeline to translate the state’s laws, among which include the law establishing Ekiti State Security Network Agency Bill otherwise called ‘Amotekun Corps’ into Yoruba language. The Commissioner for Justice and Attorney-General, Mr. Olawale Fapohunda, disclosed this yesterday in Ado-Ekiti while addressing reporters.
He said the development was targeted at motivating the people who do not understand English language to be conscious of the operational legal framework in a local language.
