The Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS) has revealed the real age of Nwamini David Ukpo, the man at the centre of the alleged transplant saga involving
former Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu and his wife, Beatrice.currently reaching out to the family of David Okemini Ukpo.The couple, which appeared before Uxbridge Magistrates’ Court over conspiracy to harvest the organs of a child, were also denied an administrative bail pending the next sitting in July.harvesting.
The Comptroller General of NIS, Isa Jere, said Ukpo is actually 21 years and not 15 as reported in many media reports.He made this known while speaking to newsmen on Sunday, The Nation reports.Ekweremadu and his wife Beatrice were, however, arrested and detained by the Metropolitan Authority of UK for allegedly trafficking Ukpo to the UK for organ harvesting.Recall Ekweremadu and his wife were arrested by The Metropolitan Police at the Heathrow Airport, London for alleged human trafficking and organ harvesting.Police, however, said the child has been safeguarded but did not disclose the gender or the age of the child or the location of the arrests.They were arraigned on Thursday before Uxbridge Magistrates Court, but were denied bail and remanded in custody till July 7.Orji Uchenna Orji, said it stands with Ekweremadu’s family in their trying time.Related Topics:.However, Smart said Senators stand with Ekweremadu amid his travail.
