The Abuja Electricity Distribution Company, AEDC, has apologised to residents over the blackout on Monday.

DAILY POST observed that some areas of Abuja; Wuye, Utako, Kubwa axis have been in darkness since the early hours of Monday.following failure by Management to remit remittances deducted from their salaries. The three states under the Abuja power distribution franchise include Niger, Kogi and Nasarawa may be in darkness till the strike is called off.

AEDC in a statement signed by its general manager, Bode Fadipe, said the loss of power supply to some areas in FCT is due to the industrial action embarked upon by National Union of electricity employees.Part of the statement read: Following the industrial action embarked upon by the national Union of Electricity employees , Power supply to some of our areas of operation especially those on the 11KV network may be affected.

“We would like to assure all our customers that all hands are on deck to resolve the issue that prompted this action.
