The Abia State House of Assembly has mandated the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice in the state, Uche Ihediwa (SAN), to speedily step into

the murder of Ugochukwu Chinyere, who was allegedly shot dead by men of the Nigeria Police Force, at Obingwa Local Government Area of the state.

DAILY POST reported that Hon Thomas Nkoro had narrated that Chinyere was shot by policemen in an incident at their illegal checkpoint in Umukalika axis in Obingwa LGA. Nkoro further said that motorists in his constituency now live in fear because none of them knows the uncertainty that might befall them from the hands of the trigger-happy policemen in the area.

The Assembly further commiserated with the family of the deceased and prayed to God to give them the fortitude to bear the painful loss.
