Independent National Electoral Commission and counsel to Kwara state Governor-elect Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, Salman Jawondo Thursday defended the genuineness of the West African Examinations Certificate presented to INEC for the 2019 governorship elections in the state by the about-to-be-sworn-in governor.
However, counsel to the PDP governorship candidate and the PDP in the state, Kingsley Odeh, argued that West African Examination Council does not abbreviate surname, even if it were to abbreviate first names. Speaking with reporters after the sitting, counsel to the INEC, Rowland Otaru said that petitioner got it wrong to put initials of the governor-elect as A.P.
Otaru said that he did not give consent to declaration of results and documents presented by the petitioner yesterday, noting that the onus was on them to prove.
