Niger State Police Command has decorated no fewer than 266 promoted officers with their new ranks.

Decorating the officers at the command headquarters in Minna, at the weekend, the Commissioner of Police, Monday Kuryas, enjoined them to rededicate themselves to duty to justify their elevation.

The CP, who stood in for the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Usman Baba, at the ceremony, reminded the officers that their promotion came with additional responsibilities; hence, the need to put their best wherever they found themselves, especially in the fight against banditry and other crimes in the state.

The decorated officers include one Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) to Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), one Superintendent of Police (SP) to CSP, seven Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs) to SP, while 257 unconfirmed ASPs were decorated to substantive ASPs.
