Emmanuel Adebayor, a former Arsenal striker, has charged the Nigerian U-20 women’s national team, the Falconets, to beat Cameroon on Saturday.

The Falconets are in Douala, Cameroon for the first leg of their 2022 FIFA Women’s U-20 World Cup African qualifiers.

Adebayor and Nigerian players boarded the same flight from Togo to Cameroon and the former Manchester City and Tottenham star used the opportunity to address the players on arrival at the Douala airport.

The former Real Madrid man and ex-Togolese captain urged them to be worthy representatives of Nigeria.

“I want to wish you well in your game against Cameroon women. You have to go out there believing that you will win because that’s what Nigerians expect from you.

“So I urge you to go out there and make your second leg easier. Good luck girls,” the former Arsenal forward stated.

Adebayor is in Cameroon to watch the ongoing 2021 Africa Cup of Nations.

The Falcons will host the Baby Lionesses in the reverse fixture in Lagos on the weekend of the first week of February 2022.
