The Director-General, Lagos State Safety Commission, Mr Lanre Mojola, disclosed this while presenting certificates on Occupational Safety and Health to trainees, in Alausa, Ikeja.

He said, “The Lagos State Safety Commission, as part of her mandate to seek assistance and collaboration with local, federal and international organisations, partnered with the Safety Advocacy and Empowerment Foundation on the need to reduce workplace accidents, illnesses, injuries, diseases and fatalities, played host to a two-man European Union delegates: Dr Sven Timm of Central Prevention Strategic Cooperation, and Dr Christian Bochman of Cooperate Responsibility and Training between July 9 and 13, 2019.

“The objectives of their visit was to promote and support the development of preventive safety and health culture in the workplace by moving Lagos State and Nigeria from an embryonic safety phase to an integrated position, and also to assess the individual capacity developmental needs of the Nigerian parties in order to design tailor-made Occupational Safety and Health knowledge transfer workshop.”

The Director of SAEF, Mr Samsideen Kadiri, said there would be further safety training held across the country.

“Safety in the workplace is crucial and we will soon be facilitating training for graduates across the country because we are committed to the preservation of lives, and I want to congratulate all the participants of this programme who are presented their certificates,” he said.
