Anambra guber: Count us out of any rigging plot – APC

Few days to the Anambra State governorship election, the All Progressives Congress, APC, says it will not be a party to any rigging plot.

There have been claims that the APC was planning to use the instrumentality of the Federal Government to take over the State.

But one of the media coordinators of the APC in Anambra State, Mr. Igboeli Arinze, who is also the Zonal Publicity Secretary, APC, representing Anambra Central, said the party was not plotting any form of rigging.

He said the people of the State were desirous of change and were ready to cast their ballot for the APC.

Igboeli said the APC candidate, Senator Andy Uba, had commenced campaign in the local governments that make up the Central Senatorial District.

“Giving Uba’s structure and experience in electioneering, he would defeat all the other candidates; they know that for sure,” he said.

Igboeli said the allegations seeking to link the APC with attempts to rig the forthcoming elections were devices by those not ready for the election.

“Such allegations were the last kicks of a dying horse, arising from the knowledge that Senator Uba and the APC were coasting to victory. Such a cry is the last act to whittle down the victory but such a stratagem has failed.

“As at today, opinion polls all over the state and even outside shows Senator Uba topping the other candidates; he has for himself a number of plusses and advantages going for him at the grassroots and even with the elites.

“The people of Anambra also understand that there are great stakes in the balance, thus they seek change as the incumbent did not fare well.

“Senator Andy Uba is that man who will end the ugly cycle of bad leadership and usher Anambra unto progress and he does not need rigging to do that,” he noted.
