How did you journey into the spotlight?

I will say comedy is my destiny. I always knew deep inside me that I would be known for comedy. But what I didn’t know was when, I kept up with the hard work. Grace found me at the point of hard work.  My journey to success isn’t complete without mentioning those who gave me their platforms such as AY.

What were you doing before stardom?

Before stardom I’ve always been an entertainer. I was just taking time to perfect my craft.  I have always been cracking jokes and putting a smile on faces. That is what gives me joy as a comedian.

What do you do outside comedy?

Apart from comedy, I run an event planning company with my friends. We do packaging, organising facilities and details such as decor, catering, entertainment, transportation, location, invitee list, special guests, equipment and promotional material etc. When I am not on stage making people happy through comedy, I am making them happy by planning and executing their events professionally.

Have you experienced any major challenges since you became a known face?

None that I can remember. What others might refer to as challenges, I see as a learning process. I never stop learning every day of my life; I believe in learning something new that is why I refer to myself as a student of life.

In what way has stardom affected you?

I had to adjust to the life of fame, but sometimes I miss who I used to be when I could walk the streets freely, take a bike with ease and walk into my favourite buka(local restaurant) without prying eyes. Anyway it’s an advancement in my career so I am grateful above all. The negative side is the criticism and trolling from internet police. There are things I could ordinarily do before now without anyone noticing me but now it’s no longer the same.

The good side is the goodwill and preferential treatment one gets from fans and people who love one; it’s an awesome experience when people appreciate and celebrate  the work one does.

What is your recipe for success?

I will say God first. There is nothing I do without the help of God. He has brought me thus far.  Hard work is also another thing that must be consistent in a person’s life. It’s one thing to be famous and another thing to remain famous. One must work consistently hard to remain at the top.
