The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has secured the conviction of 15 Internet fraudsters in Ibadan, Oyo State.

The anti-corruption agency identified the convicts as Faruq kayoed, Jimoh Olowogaba, Farouq Olamide, Mayowa Ajileye, Dayo Ogundayo, Ayodeji Dada and Wasiu Anuoluwapo. The EFCC spokesman said they were prosecuted before Justice Uche Agomoh of the Federal High Court, Ibadan, and Justices Ladiran Akintola and Sherifat Adeyemi of the Oyo State High Court on a separate one-count charge of impersonation.Justice Agomoh sentenced Ogundayo to nine months’ jail term, Dada, Anuoluwapo and Akinniyi to eight-month imprisonment each, while Olalekan and Ojo were sentenced to seven and three-month imprisonment, respectively.
