The Osun State Governor, Adegboyega Oyetola on Thursday, said the Federal Government approved the payment of a cumulative four-month stipend of N20,000 to 15,562 beneficiaries across the state.

Oyetola said this while speaking at the launch of the Federal Government’s Conditional Cash Transfer scheme in the state. He also said the gesture was part of efforts to mitigate the economic effects of the Coronavirus pandemic on the people.

This was contained in a statement signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Ismail Omipidan. He said each of the N15,000 beneficiaries would receive N20,000, covering payment for the months of January, February, March and April.

Oyetola said the Federal Government’s initiative would complement efforts of his administration to cushion effects of the lockdown imposed to curb the spread of COVID-19 in the state.

The statement further read, “The disbursement of the stipend commences today, Thursday, 9th April 2020, across the 31 Local Government Areas of the State of Osun, according to a pre-defined disbursement quota.”
