Biden had previously planned on visiting the city to discuss infrastructure before the unfortunate incident.The head of fire service, Darryl Jones, noted that ten people had ‘minor injuries’ and while three were hospitalised, none of the injuries were life threatening.
Jones also revealed that four vehicles were on the bridge when it fell and the cause of the collapse was still being investigated. He noted that rescue teams were performing reconnaissance to ensure no one was under the bridge when it collapsed.
