A 54-year-old man was arrested on charges he held an ex-girlfriend captive in the crawl space of an apartment in Atlantic City on Friday, authorities said.
Gary Lockel was taken into custody after Atlantic City police officers forced their way into the apartment after attempts to negotiate with him were unsuccessful, police said. Earlier, Lockel threw an item at the woman’s face and threatened to kill her, police said. Before police arrested Lockel, he tried to barricade himself inside the apartment on the 1400 block of Absecon Boulevard, police said.Lockel, of Atlantic City, is charged with criminal restraint, terroristic threats, simple assault, obstruction of justice and unlawful possession of a weapon.
