Comedy legend Will Ferrell and former 'SNL' head writer Harper Steele had been buddies since the mid-1990s. Two years ago, Steele announced that she had transitioned to a woman. How they approached the changing dynamics of their friendship became the basis of a new Netflix documentary.
Comedy legend Will Ferrell and former 'Saturday Night Live' head writer Harper Steele are best friends. They've always shared everything. But two years ago, Steele wrote a letter to her closest family and friends saying she'd come out as a trans woman.'That letter was really hard to send,' said Steele. 'I just kept rewriting it over and over again trying to say what I wanted to say.
As he embarked in the film Steele said, 'I love this country so much, I'm just don't know if it loves me back right now.'What did he expect? 'I definitely walked into that experience a little afraid,' Steele said. 'There was times when I wasn't with Will. … That's the part that needs to always be explained.
