The two locations at the Spring Valley County Library and Mountain View Community Center will no longer be open Sundays or Mondays
The disaster recovery centers set up in San Diego County for flood victims will be changing their operating hours beginning Sunday. The Federal Emergency Management Agency worked with the state, county and city of San Diego to open two disaster recovery centers — at the Mountain View Community Center and Spring Valley Library — after severe storms and flooding in January to help residents apply for federal assistance in person.
People affected by the storms can register with FEMA for federal assistance and disaster loans through April 19. The centers also offer information from the Small Business Administration, state agencies and the county. Starting Sunday, neither center will be open Sundays or Mondays. Flood victims can still meet with FEMA and specialists from the SBA 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays. Residents can also apply for federal help online at DisasterAssistance.
