South Texas will be contending with strong winds Saturday before a chance of severe storms rolls through overnight and Sunday.

We’ve made it to the weekend, but if you have any outdoor plans over the next couple of days, you may have to contend with a few weather issues. Thankfully, Saturday should be mostly dry, but you’ll have to deal with gusty winds and unseasonably warm temperatures by the afternoon. Overnight into early Sunday, thunderstorm chances will rise for the Hill Country and San Antonio . There also is a slight chance of severe weather, including large hail and damaging winds. Here’s the latest information.

Storms developing Throughout the afternoon and evening, scattered severe thunderstorms are expected to develop in the northern half of the state, especially from Abilene to Wichita Falls. That’s where the National Weather Service's Storm Prediction Center has issued a level 3 of 5 risk of severe thunderstorms. The storm threat will shift southward overnight. After midnight, a line of storms is expected to develop and move into the Texas Hill Country.
