But the refrigerators in our homes are just the last link in a long cold chain.
One reason for this is the need for more affordability, but even those who can afford a refrigerator may be stymied by a lack of reliable grid electricity. One reason is cultural – for those living in Western countries, a big advantage of refrigeration is that you don’t have to shop every day. But to many in Africa, a trip to the local market is as much a social occasion as a shopping expedition.
In fact, Drop Access reports that immunization rates have already increased in the areas where the box is in use.
