Dr. Nicole Provenza’s Laboratory at Baylor College of Medicine is recruiting a postdoctoral scholar to lead a project on elucidating the neurophysiological mechanisms of treatment-resistant bipolar disorder and the mechanisms by which deep brain stimulation achieves therapeutic benefit in TRBD. This project is part of a NIH BRAIN Initiative funded clinical trial and involves quantification of task-locked and naturalistic behavior via wearables, audio, and video recordings.
Develops data synchronization strategies to enable analysis of high resolution neural and behavioral data.Incorporates neural biomarker tracking in clinician facing dashboard to monitor clinical status remotely. Uses neural or behavioral biomarkers to inform stimulation adjustments or develop adaptive stimulation paradigms.
