A JetBlue plane and Southwest Airlines plane almost collided at Reagan National Airport Thursday morning, according to the FAA.

A JetBlue plane and a Southwest Airlines plane almost collided at Reagan National Airport Thursday morning, according to the Federal Aviation Administration .
The JetBlue plane reached a top speed of 34 miles per hour before canceling the takeoff, according to ABC News. Southwest did not issue a full statement, instead, they said they are working with the FAA to investigate. No injuries were reported.“Today’s near crash at DCA is a horrifying example of why it’s crucial that we beat back efforts to undermine slot and perimeter rules for our capital region airports. DCA’s overburdened runway is already the busiest in the country—and we fear that adding more flights could put passenger safety at serious jeopardy.
