The mother of a 10-month-old baby who was found dead after an AMBER Alert was issued in New York Saturday night has been charged in connection with the incident.
Officials stated the mother, 24-year-old Persia Nelson, committed manslaughter when she dropped the 10-month-old "down an approximate ten-foot-deep pipe access area."Nelson has been charged with second-degree manslaughter for allegedly recklessly causing the death of the 10-month-old baby.On March 9th, 2024 the defendant did unlawfully, knowingly, and feloniously commit Manslaughter in the second degree.
Nelson was arraigned Monday morning in Schenectady City Court and remanded on $500,000 cash bail or $1 million bond.
