A man is facing a murder charge in a Fort Worth shooting after another man, who was wounded, later died at a hospital.
Decan Mederios, 18, is being held at the Tarrant County jail on a murder charge and several aggravated assault charges in connection with the shooting, records show. He is accused in the shooting of 36-year-old Lee Douglas on May 30, according to a criminal complaint.
Douglas died Tuesday morning at a hospital after suffering complications from his gunshot wounds and his death was ruled a homicide, online Tarrant County medical examiner’s office records show. An attorney listed in court records for Mederios did not immediately respond to a request for comment.Fort Worth police said in a statement that officers responded just after 2:30 a.m. May 30 to a shooting call in the 15200 block of Trinity Boulevard, near Frye Road.
When the officers arrived, they found a man who had been shot while getting into his vehicle. He was taken to a hospital, for what police called “non-life-threatening” injuries. Douglas, who was wounded in the shooting, later died, records show. Mederios, arrested May 31, has remained jailed in connection with the shooting with bail for the aggravated assault charges set at $115,000, according to online jail records., Breaking news reporter.
