The group’s armed wing, the Qassam Brigades, said its fighters had engaged in fierce clashes with Israeli forces during which several soldiers were killed. Another strike targeted a house in the central city of Deir al Balah, killing and injuring at least 15 people. Al Sudani’s remarks came during his meeting with Blinken, who paid a short visit to Baghdad, the Iraqi News Agency reported.
