Leading by example: Greece fourth-grader who's blind reads his new book to classmates

Greece, N.Y. Students at Pine Brook Elementary School got a special treat on National Read Across America Day!

Zuabari "ZuZu" Sampson, a Greece schools fourth-grade student who's blind, recently published his first book, titled "Braille Boy." Friday, March 8, 2024, ZuZu read his book in front of his classmates at Pine Brook Elementary School.

Greece, N.Y. — Students at Pine Brook Elementary School got a special treat on National Read Across America Day!The fourth-grade author, who is visually impaired, wrote the children's book because he couldn't find any super hero books at his reading level. ZuZu also wanted to share valuable, positive life lessons while outlining the concept of Braille. He was excited to read in front of his fellow classmates!"First of all, I get to share the book and let everyone see the book, and see how amazing it is," ZuZu explained.
