A New York judge said he would take a fuller look at Donald Trump's out-of-court comments and reconsider a $10K fine he imposed on the former president.

Outside court Wednesday, Trump labeled Engoron, a Democrat, as a "very partisan judge with a person who’s very partisan sitting alongside of him, perhaps even much more partisan than he is.” Engoron later called Trump to the witness stand to explain the comment. Trump said he was not referring to a clerk but witness Michael Cohen, his former lawyer, who was testifying against him.A narrow gag order was imposed on Oct. 3 after Trump made a social media post maligning the judge's principal law clerk, who sits beside Engoron in court. Trump was ordered to take down the post but it continued to show up on his campaign website for weeks. It prompted a $5,000 fine.
