Andrew Paul was 3-star recruit in 2022 class
Former Georgia running back Andrew Paul has committed to Jacksonville State as a Division I transfer. He has three seasons of eligibility remaining. Jacksonville State beefed up its ground game on Friday, getting a transfer commitment from former Georgia running back Andrew Paul.
Paul totaled 129 yards and a touchdown in seven games for the Bulldogs in 2023. He redshirted as a true freshman, leaving him with three years of eligibility remaining.Paul was a three-star recruit in Georgia’s 2022 signing class out of Parish Episcopal School in Dallas. He led his high school team to three straight state championships, rushing for 2,616 yards and 41 touchdowns as a senior in 2021.
Jacksonville State also got good news at the running back position on Wednesday, as rising senior Ron Wiggins withdrew from the transfer portal and elected to return to the Gamecocks. Wiggins, a Jacksonville native, ran for 468 yards and six touchdowns in seven games last season.Jax State went 9-3 and won the New Orleans Bowl in 2023, its first season as an FBS program. The Gamecocks open the 2024 season at home Aug. 31 vs. Coastal Carolina.
