Ice Fishing Report for the week of February 21, 2024
Around the Interior, check out Chena Lake for Rainbow Trout and Chinook’s it was stocked full of both before winter hit.
For the Anchorage area, put your poles in at Beach Lake there is a solid chance at grabbing some Chinook and Rainbow Trout. In the Mat-Su area, check out Matanuska Lake for solid Arctic Char and Chinook fishing. Both fish were stocked in the lake right before winter rolled in. Down in the Kenai Area, check out Sports Lake as close to a thousand Chinook were just stocked as of February 8.
For those looking to have their ice houses up for longer then a day, make sure to call and register with your areas local Alaska Department of Fish and Game for the correct permits.
