The FBI's Seattle Division has contacted individuals who were on a Boeing 737 MAX 9 flight from Portland to Ontario in January, identifying them as possible victims of a crime. The case is currently under investigation, and the FBI is unable to provide updates at this time. Victims are entitled to certain services and are encouraged to contact the FBI for any questions or comments on the case against Boeing and Alaska Airlines.
The flight from Portland, Oregon, to Ontario, California, occurred in January on a Boeing 737 MAX 9. The letter from the FBI ’s Seattle Division reads in part: “I'm contacting you because we have identified you as a possible victim of a crime. This case is currently under investigation by the FBI . A criminal investigation can be a lengthy undertaking, and, for several reasons, we cannot tell you about its progress at this time. A victim of a federal crime is entitled to receive certain services.
” It then goes on to ask recipients to send an email to an address titled 'Alaska Flight Victims,' if they have questions or comments on the case against Boeing and Alaska Airlines.
