Democrats are in position to flip the majority of the Dauphin County commissioners.
Unofficial results from the county currently have Democrat George Hartwick and Republican Mike Pries in the lead, with the third place position held by Democrat Justin Douglas.Douglas was ahead of Republican incumbent Chad Saylor by 42 votes.
All of the votes still have not yet been counted. County officials need to count provisional ballots.According to his website, Douglas is a pastor who said his focus was on "reimagining the prison system," and boosting mental health services. Saylor has been the vice chair of the board of commissioners, he was appointed to the position in 2021 after serving as Dauphin County's chief clerk.
According to the Pennsylvania Department of State, November 14 is the last day for counties to receive military and overseas absentee ballots that were postmarked by November 6.
