Warming temperatures could create the hottest days of the year so far in North Texas before a cold front moves through the region later in the week.
Temperatures are expected to climb into the mid-80s and lower 90s on Tuesday and Wednesday with heat index values in the mid-90s to near 100 degrees, according to the National Weather Service in Fort Worth. The warm days will also be humid.The weather service calculates heat index by considering air temperature and relative humidity to determine what the temperatures “feel like.”The highest heat index over the next couple days is expected to occur in eastern North Texas and Central Texas.
