The new crew will replace thereported, the launch was a big celebration, with government officials and excited fans waving Chinese flags and flowers along the road. A band played patriotic songs, and the crowd sang along.
Yang, who has since supervised many of China’s space missions, said he was touched by the launch, which came just days after the 20th anniversary of his historic flight. Expressing his excitement for a new generation of Chinese "taikonauts" taking over space exploration, Yang noted that they are the backbone of China's space industry and represent hope for future development in aerospace.
