Two adorable lambs just arrived at Manhattan’s Central Park Zoo, marking the start of spring, at least here in the Big Apple.
Few things say spring like flowers, longer days, sunshine and…baby animals! Speaking of baby animals, two adorable lambs just arrived at Manhattan’sBorn this winter, the babies are sure to be a crowd pleaser at the zoo due to their absolute cuteness.
Bobbin is 7 weeks old, and little Sage is just 3 weeks. New Yorkers can see the lambs being boisterous youngsters, prancing, hopping and playing together in their new digs at the zoo’s Tisch Children’s Zoo. Both lambs are harlequin sheep, a new breed for the zoo since 2022. The young duo joins a flock of eight fluffy adult sheep who live at the children’s zoo, which is home to many domestic animals, including goats, zebu cattle, a variety of waterfowl and others.
In addition to the harlequin breed, the Central Park Zoo has Shetland and southdown sheep who consistently delight New Yorkers of all ages.years ago through crossbreeding eight different breeds to produce a hardy, docile, miniature hornlessThey are known for the variety of colors in their coats and their fine wool. They are also increasingly popular for 4H and FFA participants developing their skills, the zoo said.
