BASTROP, Texas — Attention, current and former Bastrop County residents: if you have a cool tattoo, theThe museum is seeking submissions for an upcoming exhibit called"Stories Inked in Skin," which will explore the history of tattooing and feature stories and photographs of the tattoos of Bastrop County residents. The exhibit will show at the museum from July 6 through Oct. 26.
Heather Bloom, the manager of collections at the museum, and Ron Ramirez, a Bastrop County Historical Society trustee, will select submissions. They say they're especially interested in tattoos that have unique stories or significant personal meanings. "Tattoos are more than just skin deep; they carry stories, memories, and cultural significance," Bloom said."We want to showcase the diverse and meaningful tattoos of our community and share the stories behind them."
Those interested in participating in the exhibit should submit a photo of their tattoo, along with a brief explanation of its significance. Submissions can be sent via email to [email protected] or dropped off in person at the museum, located at 904 Main St. in Bastrop."We're excited to hear the stories and see the art that makes up our community," Bloom said."This exhibit will be a celebration of personal expression and community heritage.
